A Ford Expedition Max parked next to a building and some trees

No longer will you struggle to find a capable ride with the power to be a workhorse but the distinguished appearance of a luxury vehicle that will catch the eye of other drivers on the road. The 2023 Ford Expedition MAX is finally here. Fans of Ford’s classic Expedition and maximum-duty vehicle enthusiasts can come together over a shared appreciation for Ford’s most powerful SUV yet. Let’s explore some of the most exciting features of this year’s MAX.

Space for the Whole Family (and Guests)

The cozy, stylish, roomy interior that fans of the classic Expedition raved about is still a standard feature in the upgraded MAX model. The three-row cabin can seat up to eight passengers including the driver, with ample space for cargo, and the seats are fitted with dark charcoal gray cloth. Since the second and third rows are benches, they can be folded down flat in sections or all together to leave room for your bulky cargo.

The second row’s bench is split into sections of 40/20/40 and features Ford’s own CenterSlide® system that makes it much easier to provide room to enter or exit the third row. The third-row bench features PowerFold® with Power Recline, and this makes it a snap to fold the seats down flat for extra space.

Drivers’ Favorite Features

Engine and Capabilities

The Expedition MAX has a 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine with direct injection for maximum engine power and twin intercooled turbochargers for ample power that responds quickly to driver input. The ten-speed SelectShift® auto transmission spans wider ratios and better gear spacing for snappy acceleration and deft handling.

With all that power at your fingertips, it’s doubly important that there are stability systems in place to keep the control in your hands. That’s why Ford made sure they implemented their AdvanceTrac™ Roll Stability Control™ system, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, and Trailer Sway Control. The Hill Start Assist, front and rear stabilizer bars, multilink independent rear suspension, and non-limited-slip 3.31 rear axle are all constantly engaged while you’re driving.

Convenience

The Expedition MAX is capable of towing up to 9,000 pounds without additional equipment. The cabin is surrounded by six speakers, and the integrated cabin sound system has speed-sensitive volume that will turn down as you slow the SUV to a stop. The driver can see all of the MAX’s vital information through the eight-inch gauge cluster productivity screen, and the infotainment hub can be controlled through the MAX’s newly updated SYNC®4 program located on the center stack’s 12-inch screen.

From sales to service, through all routine and unexpected vehicle repairs, and throughout the life of your MAX, our team will be here for you. Schedule a test drive with us here at Asheville Ford right now!
